PortCheck Inc., a not-for-profit company created to collect Clean Truck Fees (CTF) for the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, has announced it will begin collecting fees on Nov. 17, with enforcement of electronic gate access at marine container terminals through a radio frequency identification (RFID) tags beginning on Nov. 10.
PortCheck has urged cargo owners not registered with the PierPass system to register until the official PortCheck website is online. Cargo owners already registered with PierPass will be uploaded automatically to PortCheck once they accept the terms and conditions.
To explain how to use the website, claim cargo and pay the CTF, PortCheck will hold a webinar on Nov. 12 at 8:30 PT. The webinar will be archived online for those who cannot attend.
