Capitol Christmas Tree: The Kenworth Stage

The 2015 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree made its first stop in the lower 48 states this weekend at Seattle’s Museum of History & Industry and Lake Union Park. It’s also the point at which a customized Kenworth T680 tractor spec’d with a 76-inch mid-roof sleeper took over the hauling duties for the 74 ft.-tall Alaskan Lutz spruce. The tree now begins the overland portion of its 4,000-plus mile journey from Alaska to Washington D.C., with the lower 48 segment of the trip spanning well over 2,000 miles.
