Webasto chose a green frog as a mascot for its LEaP (Lowering Emissions and Particulates) Idle Reduction Information web site (www.makealeap.org) because frogs are “eco-indicators” whose health reflects the general health of the environment, according to the auxiliary HVAC maker.

To help draw attention to the new LEaP web site and the issues it addresses, Webasto also announced the launch of a viral video on YouTube featuring their soon-to-be-famous frog. Previewed at the Mid-America Trucking Show, it can be viewed at www.youtube.com/MakeALEap.

Webasto said it launched the new site and its database late last year to provide comprehensive information on idling reduction, such as idling laws and regulations, rebate programs, environmentally conscious legislators, idling myths and facts, links to other idling-related web sites, and more.
