GT Radial introduces new drive tire

May 13, 2015

GT Radial has released a new non-directional regional drive tire to North America.

The GT Radial GT639 is designed for high-mileage, high-scrub regional operations, the company said. It features a 30/32nd tread depth, which contributes to long service life. An open shoulder tread pattern provides excellent traction in a variety of regional applications, while the tire’s wide footprint and square shoulders enhance stability.

The GT639 also features from three advanced Giti technologies:

  • Equal Force Casing (EFC) is a specially designed carcass technology that enables an optimal tire footprint and equal force distribution for better control and regular tread wear.
  • With the Giti Cap Base Design, the cap layer provides wear resistant qualities while the base rubber between the top layer and the casing includes a special cooler running formulation that insulates the casing from heat build up.
  • Duo Filler Technology is a combination of two bead fillers – hard and soft. The soft bead filler helps provide a more comfortable ride and smoother handling, while the hard bead filler is stiffer for better durability.

The GT639 is available in four sizes:  11R22.5, 295/75R22.5, 11R24.5 and 285/75R24.5. It is backed by a 72-month limited warranty and limited two-retread casing warranty.

“The GT Radial GT639 is an outstanding drive tire for regional fleets developed through extensive research and development efforts by our team at the Giti North American Technical Center in Ohio,” said Patrick Gunn, director of sales and marketing, commercial tire, for Giti Tire (USA) Ltd., which markets and sells GT Radial commercial tires in North America.  “Regional fleet operations will experience long tread life from the deeper tread depth, and drivers will appreciate the traction delivered by the next generation tread design.”
