Heil Environmental has released an updated version of its MultiTask SL drop frame sideloader. The three-in-one refuse collection vehicle features a drop-frame chassis configuration and dual side-loading capability that enables operators to collect containers in manual, semi-automated and automated modes, the company said.
According to Heil, the MultiTask reduces the total time needed to collect a standard route of residential waste by at least 20%, and its TeleGrip lift arm allows the vehicle to be used in narrow streets and alleys.
“The new MultiTask SL boasts a number of value-adding customer features and benefits,” said Jody Hurley, Heil product manager. “An optional, strengthened and redesigned TeleGrip lift arm can be utilized on automated and semi-automated vehicles to further increase efficiencies. The new TeleGrip arm features an exceptional cycle time ranging from 8 to 20 seconds and 88 in. of reach. It is designed with maximum productivity in mind: grabbers may be stowed in a work-ready position at the chassis frame rail for a surprisingly slim width of less than 102 inches. For operation in communities that require a narrow 96-in. vehicle width, the MultiTask SL easily stores the lift in the vehicle’s hopper.”
