Horton introduces new variable fan drive, plastic fan

Feb. 7, 2014

Horton has introduced the Modulator LCV40 fully variable fan drive and WindMaster plastic LS11 fan. Both products will be shown at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March and will be available in the spring.

According to the company, this cooling solution delivers maximum efficiency and optimized cooling in a wide variety of agricultural, construction and transportation equipment.

Controlled by the engine’s electronic control unit (ECU), the Modulator LCV40 fan drive has high torque and a faster response time. The fan drive’s variable-speed operation and lower off-speed results in more usable horsepower for auxiliary systems, the company said. The fan drive is completely sealed with durable construction for long, maintenance-free operating life.

Designed for a broad range of operating conditions, WindMaster LS11 blades can be trimmed to the appropriate size for radiator and airflow requirements. The LS11 blades are computer optimized for minimum deflection, reduced fan stress and increased airflow stability.

“The Modulator LCV40 fan drive combined with a WindMaster LS11 fan meets or exceeds the Tier 4 and Stage IV emissions standards,” said Jeff Wood, Horton’s product manager, fans. “This engine cooling package provides optimized cooling in a broad range of first-fit and retrofit applications.”
