Leggett & Platt CVP to open Ford ship-thru facility in Kansas City

Feb. 25, 2014

Leggett & Platt Commercial Vehicle Products (CVP) will open a new ship-thru facility in Kansas City, MO. The facility will primarily handle upfits of the Ford Transit van and F-150 vehicles.

CVP is a Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) of Ford vehicles and offers a single source for equipment solutions, including interior cargo management solutions, ladder racks, computer mounting solutions and decal installations.  CVP also offers alternative fuel and technology conversions and is a Ford certified gaseous fuels QVM.

The ship-thru service allows CVP customers to order Ford vehicles direct into CVP’s facility for upfitting and then re-enter the vehicles into Ford’s transportation system for final delivery.

CVP’s facility is located five miles from the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant, which enables CVP customers to take advantage of low transportation and upfit costs.

“Our fleet customers are very excited about the new Ford Transit and have begun placing orders for ship-thru at our new Kansas City facility, which will be ready and open for business shortly,” stated John Forest, vice president of install operations for Leggett & Platt CVP.

The location will open in March.
