Mack Trucks, Inc. and Volvo Trucks North America have eliminated freight charges for most emergency replacement parts shipments from its parts distribution centers (PDCs). The new policies began in mid-January in the U.S. and will be effective at the end of March in Canada.
According to the two OEMs, if a part is not available at a Mack or Volvo dealership, but is available within Volvo’s eight or Mack’s seven U.S. and Canadian PDCs, it will be shipped overnight to the dealer free of charge to the customer.
Parts can be ordered after hours for next-day delivery, or on Saturday for Monday delivery, for no freight charge, the companies said, adding that the same policy is in place for oversize parts weighing over 150 lbs., which are shipped via LTL carrier.
