BP Lubricants USA recently announced the development of its next-generation Tection Extra diesel engine oil. The new formulation exceeds API’s CJ-4 specs, as well as OEM lubricant requirements for EPA-compliant ’07 engines, according to the company.
Castrol Tection Extra “has been reformulated to better manage damaging soot through technology that boosts dispersion while exceeding the API Cummins ISM CJ-4 specification for soot-related wear,” the lubricant maker added.
According to Page Gray, Castrol brand manager, “The re-engineered Tection Extra is a … result of Castrol’s commitment to exceed the OEM specifications for new 2007 engines while providing a superior formula for our customers with pre-2007 engines.”
The new Tection Extra will be on the market in January.
