The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has awarded the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. a five-year contract to supply tires and tire-related services.

Metro is the nation’s second-largest transit bus fleet, traveling more than 100 million miles per year. Goodyear previously held the contract from 1985 through 2006.

“Goodyear is pleased to be back at Metro,” said John Landefeld, Goodyear’s general manager of Mileage Sales, Lease and Service. “We look forward to once again providing quality tires and service to Metro and its patrons.”

Goodyear’s Mileage Sales, Lease and Service business, a part of Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems, will service the fleet.
