LOUISVILLE, KY. Technicians working in heavy-duty repair shops will find their jobs easier with the new 27.5-ton Under Axle Jack from OTC, an SPX Brand.
The air-powered jack is designed for maximum ease with many ergonomic features, OTC said. The jack includes a 48.75 in. four-position handle that locks in any of three positions from vertical to horizontal, making it easy to position it under vehicles, including trucks with set-back axles. There is even a stow-away position for storage.
It “incorporates a hand-release know and Venturi vacuum system for power return with no load,” said Eric Adamson SPX Service Solutions product manager of equipment and heavy-duty tools.
With its 27.5-ton capacity, it will easily lift loaded trailers, buses and other Class7 and 8 vehicles. It also features a sealed piston which reduces the chance of hydraulic fluid contamination. Easy-to-use features include a single control switch, a self-retracting ram, four adjustable handle lever positions, an air-driven cylinder, and a reduced width for easy access to lifting points.
The jack operates on standard shop air, ranging from 90 to 175 psi. It comes complete with a 3-15/16-in. adapter and 4-7/8-in. screw-extended length and both the adapter and the primary saddle have individual storage positions that have been incorporated into the main body of the jack, OTC said. The jack has a maximum height of more than 21 in. when used with the adapter and screw fully extended.
