LOUISVILLE, KY. Toyo Tires M154 has received U.S. EPA SmartWay verification as a steer tire when used in a set on a truck equipped with the company’s M657 drive tire and the M127 free-rolling tire for trailer axles.
The company made the announcement at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville. It is the fourth Toyo commercial tire to receive verification as a low-rolling resistance tire.
The M154 is designed for regional trucking operations. It uses Toyo’s e-balance technology with a stiffer belt package, stiffer bead construction and optimization through simulation technology. The tire has a full 22/32 in. tread depth with a five-rib design.
“We are proud to have our M154 included in the EPA’s SmartWay verification program,” said Lori Simonelli, senior director of technical services, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.
