ConocoPhillips Co. has introduced a premium, synthetic blend diesel engine oil, Guardol ECT, which was created to meet the CJ-4 standard for lubricants used in EPA-'07-compliant engines. Guardol ECT (emissions compatible technology) is backward-compatible, which means it can be used in pre-'07 engines as well.
Beginning this fall, the new oil will be available under the Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 Lubricants brands.
For fleets interested in an “economically efficient” oil, ConocoPhillips has developed Fleet Supreme EC (emissions compatible), which also meets CJ-4 specs.
