Freightliner LLC has announced a reorganization of its executive team by adding a new member, creating new leadership positions for marketing and distribution, and aligning its truck and component sales efforts under a single executive.
Michael E. Delaney is joining the company's executive committee in the newly created position of senior vp-marketing; Sterling and Western Star chief John Merrifield becomes senior vp-distribution for Freightliner LLC; Mark Lampert, senior vp Freightliner Trucks, will now be head of sales for all truck and component brands.
Delaney, who previously served Volvo Trucks North America as vp-marketing, will assume responsibility for the development of the Freightliner, Sterling and Western Star brands. He will also help establish the nameplate identities of the Detroit Diesel, Thomas Built, Freightliner Custom Chassis, and American La France business units.
In his new position, Merrifield will oversee the development of the company's network of independently owned operated truck dealerships, and assume responsibility for the Detroit Diesel distributor network.
New responsibilities for Lampert include sales of Sterling and Western Star brands, as well as Detroit Diesel on-highway engines and components.
