A single point of contact has been created for customers of Heil Environmental's refuse collection bodies, according to the company. The new Heil Call Central offers quick access to experts handling technical support, parts ordering, warranties, order entry, training and other customer services.

Introduced at WasteExpo in Las Vegas earlier this week, the call center is staffed by 20 experts who are supported by new telephony and customer relationship management software. The number to reach the new service is (800) 251-7258.

Heil also unveiled a new drop-frame side loader body and a major update of its popular half/pack front loader at the three-day Las Vegas waste industry show.

The MultiTaks SL side loader can be equipped for automated, semi-automated and manual route collection. Major features include a high-displacement packer, easy-to-service hydraulics, and a fully welded interlaced subframe. It's offered in four capacities — 23, 26, 30 and 33 cu. Yd.

With over 10,000 Heil half/pack front loaders already in service, the new updates cut the body's overall weight by 700 lb. by reducing part numbers and simplifying components, according to the company. Improvements include the used of abrasion-resistant steels in key areas, a new heavy-duty design for the top door, a continuous-weld subframe for better structural integrity.
