According to OTC, remote inspections of hard-to-see areas can be enabled with its new OTC 3880 video inspection scope, which features a distal video camera at the end of a water-resistant Staylock shaft. The camera provides visual internal inspection of engines without the need to disassemble, the company said.

“This handy tool gives you the edge on troubleshooting, problem solving, and plain old guesswork,” said Andy Forsberg, product manager of electronics for parent company SPX Service Solutions. “Featuring the latest in remote video technology, the new OTC 3880 pushes the envelope on value and innovation, and is a must-have tool for any serious technician or professional working in vehicle inspection and maintenance.”

Just 10 mm in diameter, the scope is ideal for inspecting belts, locating bad sensors and electrical connectors or looking inside engine cylinders through the spark plug hole, OTC said. The shaft is 36-in. long and the product includes a high-resolution, color, 2.5-in. LCD. Autofocus allows images to be viewed clearly from as close as ¼ in.
