Pennsylvania tire dealer now offering retreading solution

Dec. 17, 2012

Bergey’s Tire, Souderton, PA, has expanded its product offering to include a new retreading solution. A long-time Continental and General truck tire dealer, Bergey’s has adopted the ContiLifeCycle retreading process and is now offering ContiTread brand retreaded truck tires.

Bergey’s has six commercial locations throughout eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.

Duane Bergey, vice president of Bergey’s tire division, said that the retreading facility in Sellersville, PA, can produce up to 400 retreaded truck tires daily.

“The idea of offering a true lifecycle solution, from a truck tire’s cradle to grave, was very important to us. Because we are now able to sell the Continental truck tire from the new tire directly into a retread, we feel this has been a great complement to our business which will help us grow,” said Bergey.

Bergey’s offers four retail locations in its 10-store footprint that provide passenger, light truck, medium truck, off road, farm, earthmover, specialty and industrial tires. The Bergey’s retread facility will continue to produce additional brands of retreads along with the ContiLifeCycle products.

“The ContiLifeCycle is proving itself as an excellent complement to our premium new Continental truck tires, allowing our dealers to offer a complete lifecycle product that customers can depend on,” said Paul Williams, Continental’s executive vice president for truck tires, the Americas. “We are excited to have our historic partner, Bergey’s, on board with this process.”
