LOUISVILLE. Roadmaster is showing two premium tires this week at the Mid-America Trucking Show. Roadmaster is a brand of the Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.
The Roadmaster RM234, a regional all-position tire, and RM254, a premium regional pickup-and-delivery tire, are on display.
The RM234 is for high scrub applications where excellent tread wear and cut and chip resistance is important, the company said. It features a 22/32 tread, a high scrub tread compound, stone ejectors, four full-width steel belts and a sidewall curb guard.
The RM254 is an open shoulder drive tire built for pick-up and delivery applications. The premium tread compound and high-tensile strength four-belt package combine to provide strong retreadability, tread wear and traction.
Roadmaster also has four tire lines that are verified as SmartWay low-rolling-resistance tires and offers SmartWay products for all wheel positions. The Smartway verified lines include the RM180 and RM185 steer tires, the RM871 trailer tire and the RM851 drive tire.
The company also announced new tools, including a website, for its dealers and fleet customers. The website, http://roadmastertires.com/, features interactive product information and a dealer locator. It is available in a mobile version as well.
Dealers will also find new point-of-sale materials and a targeted print advertising campaign that will debut in May.
“This is an exciting time for the Roadmaster brand. We are building on the success of Roadmaster by investing further in the brand to grow its position in the commercial tire market,” said Mike Simon, Cooper Tire’s Vice President of Marketing for North America Tire Operations. “We see great opportunities in multiple channels because of Roadmaster’s proven performance and value and we appreciate the incredible support this brand has received since it launched in the marketplace.”
