Sprinter upfitting facility opens in SC

Morgan Olson, a designer and producer of walk-in van bodies, has opened a new facility in Charleston, SC. The facility will specialize in Sprinter dry freight bodies and Sprinter van upfitting.

“The new Charleston facility will expand our delivery vehicle solutions to the marketplace,” said Mike Ownbey, president & COO. “The fuel efficient Sprinter chassis platform is a good fit for customers who need this size delivery vehicle. Morgan Olson Walk-in vans are in demand for businesses that need greater GVW’s and this Sprinter platform offers a fuel efficient choice.”

“Morgan Olson’s new facility is the latest example of the increasing role of the Sprinter van in the U.S. commercial van market,” said Claus Tritt, general manager of commercial vans for Mercedes-Benz USA. “Their investment in this plant highlights the importance of the Sprinter van to their product line and, as a member of our Preferred Upfitter Program, demonstrates their commitment to building vehicles that meet the quality and engineering standards of Mercedes-Benz.  Morgan Olson’s new facility will maximize efficiency, convenience and service to our Sprinter van customers and dealers across the U.S.”
