The Drop-and-Hook Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) from Advantage PressurePro is designed to automatically recognize the tethering and un-tethering of trailers to tractors, and is specifically geared towards multi-trailer fleets.

The system features three major components—the Intelligent Monitor, the Intelligent Repeater, and a number of sensors. The in-cab monitor alerts the driver to current pressures, capable of reading 16 tires each on up to three trailers, communicating with other devices in the tractor via RS232, J1708 or J1939 networks, Advantage PressurePro said.

The Intelligent Repeater, installed directly onto a trailer through hooking into the trailer’s power (ABS) line, facilitates communication between the trailer’s sensors and the monitor in the tractor.

“The continuous pressure information that PressurePro provides gives fleets the information they need to increase fuel efficiency, extend tire life, cut downtime, decrease maintenance fees, add safety, enhance braking and handling performance, and reduce carbon emissions,” said Phillip G. Zaroor, president & CEO of Advantage PressurePro.
