Hendrickson Truck Systems Group has announced that its Airtek front air suspension is now available as an option on IC Bus RE Series school and commercial buses, marking the first front air option on IC buses.

According to Hendrickson, the Airtek delivers superior ride, stability and handling for IC Bus type D rear engine buses with axle ratings of 12,000 and 14,000 lbs, reducing vibration to the bus from rough road conditions.

In addition, Airtek’s rubber suspension bushings eliminate lubrication requirements and reduce twist and flex in front spring connections, improving driver road feel, the company said. It also offers up to 50 degrees of wheel cut for improved maneuverability.
