Vantage Vehicle International, Inc. has announced the release of its all-electric mini-vehicle utility truck and passenger and cargo van line. The trucks are powered by lead-acid batteries that the company said charge on standard house current in four to six hours for a range of up to 60 miles.
The electric line consists of the two-passenger Extended Cab GreenTruck EVX 1000; the five-passenger Crew Cab GreenTruck EVR 1000; the five-passenger cargo EVC 1000 GreenVan, and the seven-passenger EVP 1000 GreenVan passenger van.
According to the company, the cost of operating these vehicles is about three cents per mile and insurance premiums are well below those for full-sized vehicles--, allowing the vehicles to typically pay for themselves within five years. Vantage added that it has a distribution network in place with dealers in most major U.S. cities.
