Volvo Trucks names 2014 North American Dealer of the Year

Dec. 18, 2014

Volvo Trucks has named Chicago Truck of Alsip, IL, its 2014 North American Dealer of the Year. The dealership is part of M&K Truck Centers.

Volvo also honored its top dealers in Canada and Mexico. The 2014 Canada Dealer of the Year is Expressway Trucks Waterloo of Ayr, Ontario, and the 2014 Mexico Dealer of the Year is Grupo Bajio of San Luis, Mexico.

The annual North American Dealer of the Year award recognizes outstanding dealership performance in a number of key areas, including new truck sales, market share, parts sales, customer satisfaction, dealer operating standards, franchise investment and support for other dealers.

“Chicago Truck is an outstanding ambassador for Volvo Trucks and a model of a high-performing operation,” said Göran Nyberg, president, Volvo Trucks North American sales & marketing. “We thank Chicago Truck, owner Ron Meyering and the whole M&K Truck Centers organization for their extraordinary support of Volvo customers and their contribution to our success in the challenging Chicago market area.”

Chicago Truck, which Meyering’s M&K Truck Centers acquired in 2012, has invested heavily in inventory in order to better compete in the large and competitive Chicago area, Volvo explained. The dealership also is an aggressive marketer of used trucks and is a Volvo Truck Leasing member.

M&K Truck Centers, which is based in Byron Center, MI, operates Volvo dealerships in Illinois and Michigan and has been in operation since 1989.
