Watson & Chalin adds new self-steering axle/lift-suspension system plus trailer-axle line

SL-2065 TRU-TRACK boasts "unique" parallelogram design

LOUISVILLE, KY. Watson & Chalin revealed its new SL-2065 TRU-TRACK-- a 20,000-lb capacity self-steering axle and lift-suspension system—and introduced its own line of trailer axles here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

The company said the SL-2065 weighs 1,327 lbs and “maintains the durability and features of the TRU-TRACK family by delivering outstanding maneuverability with an industry-leading 25-degree wheel cut. “ The system is compatible with 445/65R22.5 tires and air-disc brakes.

According to Watson & Chalin, a unique parallelogram design provides a 27-in. packaging space that allows for easier configurations and is offered in ride heights from 8- to 13-in. and features a quick-change ride height system.

Other features of the SL-2065 noted by the company include:

·         Maintenance-free Huck fasteners

·         Axle travel  of 12 in.

·         Narrow 89 drum face for increased body clearance

·         Available reverse lock-out kit

·         Dual self-centering stabilizers

·         Air ride – air lift

·         Fabricated axle

·         Pre-set caster

·         Pre-plumbed options

·         5-yr limited warranty

As for the new trailer axles, Watson & Chalin said these will be available in capacities of up to 25,000 lbs; with N or P spindles; with drum or disc brakes; with 12.25 to 18-in. brakes; in various wall thicknesses depending on desired capacity; and with fully dressed wheel-end packages.
