Atlanta road closures begin as BeltLine work progresses

March 1, 2012

Truckers who use Ralph McGill Blvd. in Atlanta, GA, should plan on potential traffic back ups and seek detours around the area for the next month. Ralph McGill Blvd. will be closed between Freedom Parkway and Ashley Ave. for 30 days as work begins on building a new bridge over the roadway for the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail.

More closures are planned in March and April as work begins on repairing the historic bridge over Ponce de Leon Ave. next to Ponce City Market, according to an Atlanta INtown report. Ponce de Leon Ave. will be closed from March 23 through 26 and again from March 30 through April 1. The closures will start at 9 p.m. on Friday evening and end by 5 a.m. Monday morning.
