Cowan Systems names Dennis Morgan president

Baltimore, MD-based logistics systems provider Cowan Systems, LLC has announced that Dennis Morgan has become the company’s president.

“As Cowan opens this new chapter, I am confident that Dennis is the right person to continue the growth of our company,” said Joseph W. Cowan, chairman of the board of directors. “He has the proven ability to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and growth, ensure disciplined execution, and deliver results.  We believe his knowledge of and passion for the transportation industry will help ensure the success of all our businesses.”

Morgan, who was Cowan’s COO prior to taking on his new role yesterday, has worked for the company for 36 years. Other positions he has held include CFO and CIO. He holds an MBA in Finance from Loyola College of Maryland.

Cowan said that during Morgan’s tenure, the company has grown from a regional carrier to a full-service logistics provider. The firm noted that it will reach $450 million in sales in FY 2014.

 “I am honored to have been asked to take this role, and excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in our future,” commented Morgan.

“Our deep experience in transportation, dependence on technology to enable operating efficiencies and focus on service to our customers are key platforms to sustained growth in this industry,” he continued.  “I am committed to helping our customers and employee partners meet their ever changing needs.”
