GM launches new fleet program

March 15, 2013

General Motors is launching a new commercial dealer program for Chevrolet and GMC commercial vehicle customers. The Business Elite program, which is available at 469 dealerships nationwide, targets business customers who own one to 100 vehicles.

According to GM, the program is designed to provide small and mid-sized businesses with “the industry’s best sales and service experience” throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.

“We asked our customers what they want and need from their commercial vehicle provider and we redesigned our business model around their feedback,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of fleet and commercial sales.  “Our dealerships have embraced the increased requirements and we have a record number of participating dealers meeting the strict qualifications.”

Participating dealerships will offer Business Elite customers:

  • Priority service
  • Priority hours
  • Round-the-clock towing
  • Work-ready loaner vehicles
  • Business financing and leasing options
  • Business Vehicle remarketing and zero hassle disposal

“We continue to raise the bar and improve our customer experience to ensure that we are the preferred vehicle partner for commercial customers,” Peper said. “GM saw a 37% increase in sales to small businesses in January so we think businesses that weathered the economic downturn will be able to refresh their fleets and take advantage of all of the benefits our new programs offer.”

In January, GM Fleet and Commercial launched the Business Choice program for small businesses, an industry-first two-year, 30,000-mile business maintenance plan, in addition to a cash allowance for vehicle accessories or upfits. The maintenance plan covers lube, oil and filter changes; tire rotation; and a 27-point inspection. Eligible vehicles include cargo, passenger and cutaway vans, chassis cabs, 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups and the Chevrolet Avalanche.
