Jim Meil joins ACT Research

June 12, 2014

Industry veteran Jim Meil has joined Americas Commercial Transportation (ACT) Research in the position of Principal, Industry Analysis.

“Jim is well known in the commercial vehicle industry and the broader transportation community for his analytics, his insights, and imaginative, yet down-to-earth management presentations. He is also a recognized leader in the business economics community,” said Ken Vieth, ACT Senior Partner and General Manager. “We look forward to adding him to ACT’s roster of industry experts.”

Meil previously was vice president and chief economist with Eaton, a position he held since 1996. He recently retired from Eaton after a 29 year career with the company, serving in various roles in planning, treasury, and economics functions. Prior to joining Eaton, Meil had held consulting and management positions with Chase Econometrics and with Burroughs Corporation.

“I am looking forward to leveraging my industry background with ACT Research, the leader in commercial vehicle analytics,” said Meil. “I have had the pleasure of association with ACT going back to 1989, when I presented a forecast at their very first industry seminar. I plan to bring some new and different insights to help deliver more value to the ACT client base.”
