Joseph M. Dagnese has been named president of Con-way Truckload, the full truckload subsidiary of Con-way Inc. Dagnese is replacing Saul Gonzalez, who will remain with the company in an executive staff role, the company said.
Dagnese is a 31-year veteran of the transportation industry. He joins Con-way Truckload from Menlo Logistics, Con-way’s global logistics and supply chain management unit, where he most recently served as vice president-international. He will be based at Con-way Truckload’s headquarters in Joplin, Mo.
“Joe Dagnese is a respected transportation and logistics executive who has made significant contributions in leadership roles throughout his career,” said Douglas W. Stotlar, Con-way’s president and CEO. “We are pleased to have him assume this new role and I’m confident his leadership skills and lean operations expertise will be a key asset to Con-way Truckload’s future growth and success.”
Dagnese has led Menlo’s international operations since September 2013 and also was responsible for company-wide deployment of Menlo’s global lean strategy. Prior to that, he directed Menlo’s Automotive & Government Services Group, which provides a full range of logistics and transportation management activities for Tier 1 and 2 OEM’s and suppliers in the United States and internationally.
