Kane is Able has opened a new distribution center to help serve customers in Southern California.

The 211,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Rialto, CA, is located in the Inland Empire, 50 mi. east of Los Angeles. The center will provide cross dock, distribution and transportation services.

“We are looking forward to serving our customers by being closer to the marketplace,” said Ed Shoemaker, senior director of operations.

The company said this expansion in services was the result of a redesign of their partner network. It is anticipated that the move to the new location will generate an annual savings of more than one million dollars in transportation costs.

Kane currently has a total of 21 facilities with primary locations in Southern California, Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, New Hampshire, and Maryland. It also has more than 2 million square feet of distribution space in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the site of Kane’s corporate headquarters.

Kane is Able is a third-party logistics provider serving the retail industries with over 1,100 employees nationwide. It also offers integrated distribution, packaging, and transportation solutions specially designed to meet the needs of manufacturers and their retail partners.

The company also named Veronica Donchez senior vice president of human resources. Donchez has more than 25 years of HR experience. Prior to joining Kane, she worked at ES3 and SuperValu.
