Feb. 19, 2015

MHC Kenworth-Colorado has received the 2014 Kenworth Dealer of the Year Award from Kenworth Truck Co. The company also announced several other awards along with its Service and Parts councils at the annual Kenworth Dealer Meeting, held in Phoenix, AZ.

“To achieve outstanding performance in this industry requires great products, unwavering dedication and hard work, and attention to detail. MHC Kenworth – Colorado offers The World’s Best® heavy and medium duty trucks, sales, service, and parts backed by employees who have served our customers for 40 years with a commitment to do Whatever It Takes™ each and every day,” said Tim Murphy, CEO of MHC Kenworth, which operates 60 Kenworth dealerships in 13 states. “We appreciate this prestigious honor and thank our customers for their continued support and business.”

The award encompasses MHC Kenworth locations in Colorado Springs, Denver, Grand Junction, Greeley, and Pueblo, Colo., and Cheyenne, Wyo. MHC Kenworth – Colorado previously received the 2010 Kenworth Dealer of the Year Award.

MHC Kenworth – Colorado was selected as Kenworth Dealer of the Year from among Kenworth’s six Gold Award winners for 2014. Other Gold Award winners are: Kenworth of Indianapolis, MHC Kenworth – Kansas City, Truck Enterprises Harrisonburg, Wisconsin Kenworth, and Worldwide Equipment.

“MHC Kenworth – Colorado achieved excellent Kenworth T680, T880, PACCAR MX-13 engine, and medium duty cabover sales, and attained impressive market share in heavy and medium duty trucks,” said Preston Feight, Kenworth general manager and PACCAR vice president. “To support customers, all locations provide extended night and weekend hours, well-maintained facilities, and knowledgeable employees that get the job done. Congratulations to The World’s Best Dealer for 2014.”

During the Kenworth Dealer Meeting, Kenworth also honored its 16 Silver Award winners:

  • Canada - Amos Kenworth, Edmonton Kenworth, GreatWest Kenworth, Kenworth Maska, and Kenworth Montreal.

On the medium duty side, Rihm Kenworth was named the Medium Duty Dealer of the Year for the third time in four years.

“To win the Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year Award for 2014 – the same year we celebrated our 65th anniversary as a Kenworth dealer – is very rewarding. This achievement came from a lot of hard work and dedication from our staff, particularly our sales team and our parts and service teams,” said Kari Rihm, who serves as Rihm Kenworth president and dealer principal.

“We have dedicated medium duty truck sales representatives who possess extensive knowledge of Kenworth's medium duty product line and understand the varying needs of customers who use them in their business. They match the right trucks with the best specification to optimize driver comfort and productivity, and by doing so, lower operating cost for the customer,” said Rihm. “Our service department provides medium duty operators with after-hours service through an overnight shift and takes a proactive approach to scheduling regular maintenance on their trucks.” Rihm Kenworth, which operates locations in St. Paul, Albert Lea and Sauk Centre, Minn., and Superior, Wis., captured the top sales spot in medium duty sales among Kenworth dealers in 2014.

The annual Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year Award recognizes outstanding leadership and dealership focus on growing Kenworth’s medium duty truck business. Kenworth’s medium duty line features the Kenworth T170, T270, T370, T440 and T470 conventional trucks, and the K270 and K370 cabovers.
