NATSO president and CEO Lisa Mullings recently announced the appointment of David Fialkov as the association’s new legislative and regulatory counsel.
“David brings great experience and knowledge to NATSO and already has a key understanding of some of the most important issues facing the truck stop and travel plaza industry,” Mullings said. “David joins a strong government affairs team managing transportation and energy regulation and policy, and I’m confident that he will add great value to our member-driven agenda. I am pleased to welcome David to NATSO.”
Fialkov joins NATSO from the law firm of Steptoe and Johnson LLP, where as a counsel in the Government Affairs and Public Policy department he advised motor fuel wholesale and retail industries on legislative, regulatory and political issues, according to the company. During his tenure, Fialkov represented clients on business issues such as energy, labor matters, food and menu labeling, healthcare and employment issues, tax matters and data security.
In his new role, Fialkov will assist in policy research and development, regulatory strategy and advocacy, as well as provide legal counsel on a host of business-related issues, NATSO said. Fialkov also will serve as a resource for members on legislative and regulatory issues.
