LOUISVILLE, KY. A new portable air purifier that reduces allergens, contaminants, and other odors from inside the cab of a truck has been introduced by Dometic. The Breathe Easy air purifier is on display this week at the Mid-America Trucking Show here.

The system uses photocatalytic nano-mesh technology with non-ozone producing ultraviolet (UV) light to reduce biological contaminants like mold spores, bacteria and viruses. The UV light’s energy activates titanium-dioxide catalysts on the nano mesh, and the pollutants and odors that come in contact with the nano mesh are “reconfigured” into cleaner and healthier air, Dometic said.

An internal fan pulls air from the space through the purifier.

“Independent laboratory tests have shown that the Breathe Easy technology can reduce volatile organic compounds up to 96% and bacteria and fungi by up to 99%,” said Lou Siegel, spokesman for Dometic’s U.S. trucking business unit. “The system has been proven to reduce allergy and asthmatic symptoms, and it also effectively removes odors from tobacco smoke, diesel fumes and other sources.”

The Breathe Easy comes with a standard 12V DC power plug and an AC plug adapter.
