Kenworth Truck Co. has announced it will display a medium duty diesel-electric hybrid utility truck, which will go into full production this summer, at the Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference (EUFMC) in Williamsburg, VA from June 15 to 18.
The company will give a drive-through demonstration of the T370 hybrid utility truck from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 16, and display the vehicle from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
According to Kenworth, the hybrid is designed to enhance fuel economy by up to 50% in utility operations and up to 30% in P&D applications. Below 30 mph, the hybrid uses a diesel/electricity combination that automatically switches between the two modes of operation.
