Decisiv is now making its Decisiv Service Management Platform (DSMP) available on email-capable handheld devices, including iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android-powered smartphones. The system will also work on Palm and Windows Mobile devices and table PCs over any 3G or WiFi network.
“Participants in the service management process are mobile, even within their own facilities in yards and service bays,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “Unthethering platform users during a service event can save both time and money for fleets and service providers.
“Enabling the use of the cloud computing-based Decisiv Service Management Platform anywhere, any time and on any device is one of a growing list of ways we are supporting more effective unified communication,” he added.
The mobile application is designed to address the disjointed nature of email-based communication, according to Decisiv. Alerts, responses, photos and documents can all be shared on the DSMP. All of the in-context information is captured in a threaded, date/time-stamped electronic folder.
