Members of the Dossier fleet management software Users Group ranked fleet budgeting as the number-one topic they’d like to see addressed at the next Dossier Users Group meeting. That meeting is slated for October 24 and 25 at the Hilton Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ.

Equipment life-cycle costing was ranked second, followed by driver/mechanic management, tire management, equipment specification, wireless computing, purchasing, downtime analysis, warranty analysis, accident tracking, and vendor management.

“Fleet managers are challenged to control and reduce costs, not just keep the fleet on the street,” said Charles Arsenault, CEO of Arsenault Associates. “They are required to account for fleet management expenses in detail more than ever before. Being able to develop an operating expense plan and then manage it is what budgeting is all about.”
