The integration of two leading fleet management programs offers new capabilities for the tow industry, including more accurate arrival time estimates and live driver location updates.
TomTom’s Worksmart software and dispatch software from Tracker Management Systems have been combined to provide a variety of applications ranging from navigation to dispatch to real-time tracking.
“TomTom and Tracker Management are solving the perennial problem for towing companies of matching customers to the closest drivers and getting those trucks routed quickly to the right locations,” said Michael Geffroy, vice president, TomTom Business Solutions.
Tracker Management Systems provides software, computer and wireless communications systems. The integrated system will use TomTom’s navigation data and Tracker’s dispatching system to route drivers, and when necessary, send a prerecorded phone message automatically to the customer if the promised arrival time is going to be missed, Jim Weaver, president of Tracker, said.
