Multi-mode communications and tracking systems provider GeoLogic Solutions has introduced its Windows-based touch screen color display unit (CDU). The CDU will be available as a display option to new customers and as an upgrade for existing users of GeoLogic’s MobileMax system.
The CDU will ship in the fourth quarter, with electronic driver logs also available that quarter. Other applications such as onboard navigation and text-to-speech will be available in early 2007, the company said.
“The new CDU is a rugged, driver-friendly device that offers fleets a range of enhanced applications,” said John Lewis, president & CEO, noting electronic driver logs, text-to-speech, mapping and onboard navigation. “Drivers will like the ease of use of the graphical touch screen while the addition of electronic log capabilities will allow drivers to handle less paperwork while ensuring HOS compliance.”
