CHARLOTTE. According to TomTom Business Solutions, its new portable navigation solution offers all the management tools commercial fleets require in a device that can easily be moved from vehicle to vehicle. The Pro 9150, introduced during the NAFA 2011 Institute & Expo here, includes improved route guidance and real-time traffic updates with TomTom’s HD Traffic.

“The PRO 9150 brings a unique offering to the market by combining navigation, GPS tracking and work-order communication in an easy to use, portable solution,” .said Michael Geffroy, TomTom vp of sales, North America. “Businesses can rely on a complete fleet management solution and the flexibility to quickly deploy the devices across vehicles as needed.”

HD Traffic captures and reports traffic jams as they occur, offering more accurate reporting to help drivers avoid delays and better plan arrival times, according to TomTom. The company said it also recognizes traffic conditions for all major and secondary roads and delivers real-time updates every two minutes.

"The addition of TomTom HD Traffic to our solution represents a revolution in real-time traffic information that further empowers businesses with superior driving intelligence to help them reach more customers every day,” added Geffroy.

The solution also offers access to TomTom’s Live service. Live requires a subscription to TomTom WebFleet and provides drivers access to speed cameras, local search, fuel prices and weather.

Also included in the 9150 is TomTom Worksmart, which offers vehicle tracking, job dispatch, time management, eco driving and management reporting tools through a WebFleet subscription.

Worksmart communicates work status messages, reports on closest drivers to a customer, and provides instant delivery of customer addresses to drivers. It also allows drivers to log time on site at jobs, as well as both private and business miles.

The device includes a 5-in. touchscreen; Bluetooth hands-free calling; voice recognition; a click & lock mount; intuitive user menus; pinch-to-zoom and swipe from screen-to-screen using gestures; premium maps of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico; lifetime traffic and map updates; and advanced lane guidance.
