Using WiFi hot spots at 255 Pilot Travel Centers, SiriComm offers wireless access to a variety of fleet management applications. Calling itself “a national wireless application service provider (ASP) for commercial transportation,” the company offers drivers high-speed Internet access over WiFi through satellite communications links it maintains between the truckstop hotspots and its data hub.

SiriComm also offers Beacon, a suite of productivity applications, through its Internet service. Beacon includes electronic billing and settlement, electronic driver logs, fuel management and maintenance applications.

Based on open architecture, the applications can be integrated with existing fleet software or used on a stand-alone basis with just a web browser, according to the company.

Cost for the Beacon suite and WiFi access is $50/month per truck, including a PalmOS handheld wireless computer and software for the driver.
