A new application for Delphi's FleetOutlook onboard computer and wireless data system provides real-time vehicle information to the Dossier fleet maintenance management software system. Dossier Onboard from Arsenault Assocs. automates data collection and provides early warning of major and minor equipment problems to both drivers and fleet managers.
The new Windows CE application for FleetOutlook wirelessly updates the shop-based Dossier program with odometer readings and other vehicle performance data including fault codes to set maintenance schedules, open work orders for repairs and track vehicle costs. All equipment data conforms to industry-standard VMRS codes. FleetOutlook is a multi-mode wireless device, transmitting data over satellite and land-based networks as well as WiFi LAN connections.
Later this year, Arsenault says it will release a no-charge upgrade for Dossier Onboard that will include DOT-approved recording and reporting for pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. Other new features will include automatic search and display of best available service vendors based on a truck's GPS location, and automatic linking of specific drivers with recorded equipment problems.
