All-position P&Ds

Goodyear Tire & Rubber has introduced two new all-position tires for the Class 3-5 P&D market. The G647 RSA/RSS and G614 RST tires are designed to provide high mileage, consistent tread wear, durability, and longer casing life. The G647 line has a M+S rating (mud and snow), which indicates that the circumference grooves and lateral blades are designed to provide improved traction in wet conditions.

Both the RSA (Regional Service All-Position) and RSS (Regional Service Severe) models in that line are designed to minimize shoulder wear conditions caused by the frequent turning required in P&D applications.

The RSA model is available in nine tire and load range configurations for 16 - 19.5-in. wheels; the RSS-geared for more extreme P&D applications — has five size and load combinations.

The G614 RST (Regional Service Trailer) features a stiffer, solid tire shoulder and shallower tread to allow for more even wear required on trailer tires.

With a load range G rating, it can handle range up to 3,750 lb. in a single application, according to Goodyear. A steel belt/steel ply tire, it is available in LT235/85R16, load range G.
