IdleAire Technologies Corp. has been awarded a patent protecting the company's method of providing heating, cooling, and convenience services, including cable TV, phone service, computer connection and electrical power, to parked trucks. The IdleAire system provides creature comforts via a window-mounting service console that allows drivers to shut off their engines while they rest.

Raytheon Co. and Paris-based Valeo have formed a joint venture called Valeo Raytheon Systems to develop and produce a variety of car-truck safety systems. Products will include vehicle blind spot detection, back assist and collision warning systems for Europe and North America.
