Topping the list of winners is editor in chief Jim Mele, who received a Bronze National Award, as well as a Gold East Region Award, in the “signed editorial” category (for publications with circulation over 80,000). Mele was honored for his “Editor's Page” in the June and July 2000 issues of FLEET OWNER.

Receiving “Silver” Awards in the East Region were executive editor David Cullen in the “regular column, staff written” category and columnist Ken Simonson in the “regular column, contributed” category.
