Transportal offers access to advanced fleet systems

Transportal Network is a new Internet-based site designed to provide operational services and increased purchasing power to carriers that join it as members.

According to president & CEO Chuck Papageorgiou, carriers that become Transportal members gain "access to real-time information and computer software engines that will reduce downtime and improve their driver and equipment utilization rates."

Transportal presented all the members of its executive team at the recent Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) meeting, including Lana Batts, former president of TCA, who has been appointed executive vp and chief development officer.

Papageorgiou also announced that an alliance with Logistics.com means four of its decision-support products - MicroMap, OptiStop, OptiYield, and Drop & Swap - will be available to Transportal members.

Through a partnership with AmeriQuest Transportation and Logistics Resources, Transportal will offer for sale tractors, trailers, reefer units, lubes, tires and retreads, and maintenance parts and supplies to members at lower costs than they might obtain on their own.

A partnership with DockSmart will provide access to loading and unloading services for trailers at shipper/receiver locations.

Transportal Network's Internet-based services are accessed via its new Web site, www.transportalnet.com.
