Freightliner trio debuts

Freightliner Trucks has rolled out a 112-in.-BBC version of its Columbia heavy-duty model and added a 100-in.-BBC and a 112-in.-BBC variant to its Business Class M2 medium line. The Columbia 112 is aimed at short- and long-haul applications and features an overall shorter length for maximum maneuverability, visibility and payload. It is offered with Mercedes-Benz MBE 4000 or Cat engines in ratings

Freightliner Trucks has rolled out a 112-in.-BBC version of its Columbia heavy-duty model and added a 100-in.-BBC and a 112-in.-BBC variant to its Business Class M2 medium line.

The Columbia 112 is aimed at short- and long-haul applications and features an overall shorter length for maximum maneuverability, visibility and payload. It is offered with Mercedes-Benz MBE 4000 or Cat engines in ratings to 470 hp. Transmission choices include Eaton Fuller, ArvinMeritor and Allison. The truck can be ordered as a day cab or with various SleeperCab options.

The M2 100 comes in GVW ratings from 16,000- 26,000 lb. and is aimed at applications where visibility and maneuverability are “top priorities.” A Mercedes-Benz MBE900 engine in ratings from 170 to 250 hp. is standard. Transmissions include Mercedes-Benz, Eaton Fuller, and Allison.

The M2 112 comes in GVW ratings to 66,000 lb.; options include crew cab and extended cabs. It comes standard with a Mercedes-Benz MBE4000 engine rated up to 450 hp.; Cat engines will be offered later this year. Transmission choices include Eaton Fuller AutoShift and Eaton Fuller manuals, as well as Allison HD automatics.
