Cadec Corp. and Air-Track/Cloudberry have recently joined over 25 other companies in the Freight Transportation Security Consortium (FTSC).

The group is working to develop data encryption and security-related messaging standards for truck and rail companies carrying hazardous materials.

One of FTSC's major goals is to establish a central system for monitoring in real-time both location and sensor devices carried by hazmat tank trucks and tank rail cars. The group is also working on developing an effective communications system to relay alerts and other vehicle security information to police, fire and other first responders.
