For private fleets, LTL and TL carriers, municipalities, and heavy equipment operators, the management of mobile assets - trucks, tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, forklifts, and a wide array of support equipment - is a critical challenge that directly affects the success of the overall organization.

As part of a comprehensive equipment maintenance management solution, Maximo Fleet Manager (MFM) can help achieve longer equipment service life, reduced cost-per-mile or cost-per-hour costs, and increase the residual value of all mobile assets in a fleet.

MFM is a comprehensive software solution. It offers important features such as full maintenance coding (including VMRS codes), warranty tracking, fleet equipment tracking, campaigns, comprehensive tire tracking and complete reporting capabilities. The system also includes a safety module, which can help management monitor safety initiatives and assist in compliance with relevant government regulations.

MFM is extremely easy to use and easily tailored; relevant maintenance codes can be fully integrated into the product. It can identify all equipment under warranty, including whether parts and labor are covered. In addition, MFM not only tracks OEM warranties, but also tracks extended and aftermarket warranties.

System users can easily identify reimbursable warranties or policy adjustments at the time of repair. This allows for warranty claims to be immediately submitted for reimbursement.

MFM provides outstanding flexibility, allowing managers to track such information as license plate numbers, equipment type, mileage readings, home terminal location, unit status descriptions, and much more. It also allows users to establish job plans for campaigns, equipment modifications, and recalls. Links can be established to build sheets, service bulletins, or recall information. Campaign work orders can be generated automatically for individual vehicles with required labor and materials.

Tire costs are one of the largest expenses for fleets. MFM helps to manage these costs by tracking such information as tire purchases, recapping costs, tread and casing condition, tread depth by wheel position, tire pressure, and casing value. Finally, the system integrates with Maximo Analyzer. Analyzer is an easy to use and powerful OLAP (online analytical processing) tool that enables users to "slice and dice" critical data for fast and thorough analysis. This allows custom reports to be created on the fly.

Finally, we are very excited about the many cost-savings opportunities available with MRO.com. MRO.com, a subsidiary of PSDI, helps capital-intensive industries tackle the complexities of the MRO (maintenance, repair, and operating) materials procurement market. MRO.com links an online community of MRO suppliers and buyers to a group of Internet-based desktop requisition and online procurement software products that dramatically reduce purchasing and inventory costs
