Satellite Intermodal Express (SIE) will install GlobalWave communications terminals from Vistar Datacom in 6,800 53-ft. trailers in its TOFC fleet. Satellite Intermodal Express (SIE) will install GlobalWave communications terminals from Vistar Datacom in 6,800 53-ft. trailers in its TOFC fleet. Data from the two-way satellite communications system will be integrated with SIE's proprietary logistics system, allowing customers to track and monitor shipments from a PC. The carrier says it intends to add wireless tracking to another 20,000 intermodal trailers over the next three to five years.
