Advanced, self-centering coil-over spring stabilizers from Tenneco Automotive are engineered to reduce driver workload and fatigue by maintaining precise control of self-steering drop axles used with heavy-duty trucks, concrete mixers and other over-the-road applications. The Monroe Gas-Magnum stabilizers combine a heavy-duty shock absorber with a self-centering, heavy-rate coil-over spring to help maintain steering stability while allowing the front axle to self-steer.

Several features address the most common causes of stabilizer failure, including a pressure-tube section that is 50% thicker than competitive designs, an oversize 1⅜-in. piston bore, multi-lip pressure-tube seal and a premium chrome-plated rod that at ⅝-in.-diameter is 25% thicker than traditional rods.

Monroe stabilizers also include stronger arc-welded mounts, an impact-resistant dirt shield and a significantly larger oil chamber for faster heat dissipation and elimination of fading during heavy use. The stabilizer's twin-tube design includes a foam gas cell that eliminates hydraulic aeration to maintain consistent damping action under extreme use. And the unit's damper utilizes Monroe's latest multi-stage, full-displacement valving technology, which automatically adjusts to road and load conditions. The stabilizers are available for all self-steering drop axles and concrete booster axles.
